Be The You Foundation’s project focuses on cleaning up the shores of Lake Victoria and the Indian Ocean in Kenya. The activities involve educating the locals and creating awareness on sustainable practices along large water bodies. Similarly, the organization creates and constructs waste disposal points along Mombasa beaches and the shores of Lake Victoria. Currently, the organization intends to plant more than 100,000 fruit tree seedlings in 200 schools both Primary and Secondary in rural and peri-urban centres. This will offer an opportunity for large tree cover in schools and educate the youths on the importance of tree cover to mitigate climate change issues. So far, they have planted 20,000 trees in 17 schools in Dandora’s informal settlement in Nairobi County, Kenya.
