Hazel M. Johnson Fellowship focuses on increasing opportunities for early career Black women and gender expansive individuals to enter into the climate workforce. The Fellowship is designed to attract and support third and fourth year undergraduate students with exceptional promise through 10-week internships across a variety of disciplines: environmental justice, renewable energy, conservation, and climate tech, with a particular focus on connecting fellows with justice oriented organizations with limited means to cover a summer fellow.
Black Girl Environmentalist is a national organization dedicated to addressing the pathway and retention issue in the climate movement for Black girls, women and gender-expansive people. By empowering emerging climate leaders of color, the organization is committed to supporting Black girls, women, and gender-expansive people realize their full potential in climate leadership.
