The Ancestral Adaptation Plan for Climate Change (PACC) in Putumayo, addresses the consequences of climate change affecting vulnerable communities in the region. Through a methodology that integrates ancestral, gender, peace and youth approaches, they implemented together with the communities of Alto Putumayo an Ancestral and Traditional Training School led by the wise mothers of the region. The purpose of the project is to contribute to the cultural and sustainable strengthening of these communities, preserving their ancestral knowledge and promoting a more equitable and sustainable future. This strengthens the technical and practical capacities of the wise mothers of the community in agroecology for the management and conservation of the sacred chagras and also promotes the transfer of intergenerational knowledge between wise mothers and young indigenous people on issues related to the transformation of local knowledge and customs.
Climalab, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) founded in 2017 by three young Colombians, has the mission to promote community empowerment and decision-making around climate change in various areas of society. They consider themselves a laboratory of ideas and solutions, focused on peace, ancestry, youth and gender equality, in order to prevent human rights violations and improve the quality of life, especially for girls, boys, youth and women.
