Empoderando pelo Clima work is focused on two main pillars: 1 - A multilingual database, with both original and curated content that serves as a resource about gender and climate for everyone who usually doesn't have access to materials about climate justice in their native languages. 2 - Leadership in global and national advocacy for gender-just climate action through partnerships with climate organizations and movements all over the globe, interventions at high-level events, and projects on climate education. "Programa Empoderando pelo Clima" is an initiative designed to empower and accelerate the climate activism of fifteen young women aged 18 to 26 in Brazil, with a focus on marginalized groups such as Black and Indigenous people, people with disabilities, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and those from low-income communities. The six-month program includes media training, public policy education, regional activist interactions, and local climate project development. The program empowers young women activists to promote climate justice in Brazil, focusing on those not typically seen in mainstream climate activism, specially the youth.
EmpoderaClima is a Brazil-based, youth-led initiative created to raise awareness of the disproportionate impacts of climate change that girls and women face in the Global South, as well as the need for women's leadership in climate action.
