Responding to the impact generated by our Earth Day campaign, we officially transformed into an organization—changing our name to the Re-Earth Initiative.
Re-Earth Initiative showcased the short film “Pescando Oportunidades” as part of the ongoing Live On The Frontlines campaign, alongside the joint campaign of “Love Letters To The Earth” that took up an entire wall of the first ever Children and Youth Pavilion.

Re-Earth Initiative and walk it back share 10 innovative methods of carbon removal deepening the understanding and sparking dialogues with city decision makers across the globe.

With over 15 REI affiliates attending the conference, from tracking negotiations to hosting events at the Entertainment+Culture Pavilion to the implementation lab on Equitable Fossil Fuel Phase Out at the Climate Champions Hub; with our work culminating in the Youth Policy Report ‘Bridge To The SBs 60’ released in June 2024.
After 4 years of remote work, Re-Earth Initiative’s organizing team and volunteers gathered in Costa Rica for the first time ever. 17 youths from 17 different territories and countries spent 5 days together, strategizing and forging long-lasting friendships.

The Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) met this year in Cali, Colombia for its 16th Conference of the Parties where Daniela made important intergenerational connections with civil rights organizations working at the intersection of global financial systems, climate change, and policy for more equitable Global South-Global North relationships.

We attended the Gathering for Climate and Life (AntiCOP) in Oaxaca, Mexico, and stood in solidarity for life, land, and justice. We engaged in a critical space for dialogue and worldbuilding by connecting directly with territorial movements and other climate justice organizations.
With three members on the ground, we focused on narrative building, outward communication, and amplifying youth voices. Recognizing that many activists were unable to attend, we provided daily briefings and discussions on the differences between COP and AntiCOP.

Cycle 2 has received over 1'900 applications and seeks to expand opportunities for youth-led climate action worldwide through our 3 key areas of action: empowerment, preservation, and restoration. With an increased commitment to equity, Cycle 2 seeks to expand its reach to underrepresented communities.
